Terms of Service
Effective October 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of Waypoint Log (“the app”), operated by Yufeng Li (“we”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
The app is an electronic personal log for pilots. It records flights and simulator sessions, lays them out in a Transport Canada style logbook, and calculates values such as flight time, night time, cross-country time, totals and recency. It can import events from Google Calendar, rosters and logbook exports when you ask it to.
2. You are responsible for your logbook
Calculations and recency indicators are aids, not authoritative determinations. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your entries, for checking calculated values, and for meeting the requirements of the Canadian Aviation Regulations, Transport Canada and any other authority or operator that applies to you. The app is not approved or endorsed by Transport Canada or any other aviation authority. Do not rely on it as your only record of flight time.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and provide accurate account information. Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at derekli19951103@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your content
You own the logbook data you enter or import. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run the app for you. If you record other people’s names (for example crew members), you are responsible for having a lawful reason to do so. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app: no attempts to access other users’ data, disrupt or overload the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use it for anything unlawful.
6. Third-party services
Features that connect to Google or other services are also subject to those services’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and connected features may change if those services change.
7. Availability and backups
We aim to keep the app available and your data safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copy of important records, for example a printed or exported logbook.
8. Fees
The app is currently provided free of charge. If that changes, we will tell you in advance and you can choose whether to continue.
9. Disclaimer
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, licences, ratings, employment or profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or $0 if the app was free.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using the app and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes will be handled by the courts of that province.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept them.
