Waypoint Log

AI assistants

Ask Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant about your logbook, and have it add lines for you to review. You connect it once with your Waypoint Log sign-in, and can disconnect it at any time.

What you can ask

  • “How many hours have I flown this year, and how much as PIC?”
  • “Am I current to carry passengers at night?”
  • “How close am I to my 28-day flight time limit?”
  • “When did I last fly with M. Tremblay?”
  • “Add yesterday’s flight from Toronto City to Ottawa, out 14:00 and in 15:05 UTC, as PIC.”

What it can and can’t do

  • Read your logbook: its lines, totals, recency, flight time limits, aircraft and the lines waiting for review. Totals, recency and limits are worked out by your logbook, as on its Overview.
  • Add lines, which wait in Waiting for review: nothing enters your logbook until you approve it there. Adding lines needs a membership or your free trial, as in the app.

It can’t change or delete lines in your logbook, see your account or payments, or import files.

The address

Every assistant connects to the same address:

https://mcp.waypointlog.com/mcp

Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Waypoint Log, enter the address above, then choose Connect.
  3. Sign in to Waypoint Log. Check that it’s Claude asking and that you’ll go back to claude.ai, then choose Allow.
  4. In a chat, turn Waypoint Log on in the tools menu, and ask away.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT’s settings, open Apps and add an app with the address above, then sign in to Waypoint Log and choose Allow. Until Waypoint Log is in ChatGPT’s app directory, ChatGPT may ask you to turn on developer mode first.

Other assistants

Any assistant that connects to remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in works the same way. In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http waypoint-log https://mcp.waypointlog.com/mcp

Disconnecting

In Waypoint Log, Settings › AI assistants lists the assistants you’ve connected and when each was last used. Disconnect ends its access at once; the lines it added stay until you delete them.

Privacy

An assistant reads only what it asks for, as you allowed it. What it reads goes into your conversation with it, under the assistant’s own terms and privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy.
